I've been facing a problem that I would like to know if any others are experiencing:

If Show tips on startup is ON and the tips window is set to maximized when launching XYP no window appears. I have to use a process manager to bring to front the tips window close it and then maximize the XYP window so that I can work.

You made me discover a bug: If shown on startup the tip window was still modal. Fixed. That should solve your problem (although I could not reproduce it).

How are you making the tip window maximized in the first place?

Its style doesn't allow maximizing or resizing via the conventional methods.

Even when I used AutoHotkey to force that window to be maximized (or sized it to fill the screen) when I closed XY, the next restart restored it to the default size, activated and focused it.

Well

I don't know why. I just maximized it the first time and after this, the XYP window didn't show up again. Bringing the window to the front make appear the tips window maximized at first place.

I still believe as I said before (or did I forgot to?) that an option/checkbox to have it stay on top might be helpful to newbies. So that they can go open the menu/window the tip is talking about without "loosing" the Tip window, or having to switch back & forth between the two.
(And, making it a checkbox here makes it pretty easy/quick to turn it on/off whenever one wants)

Yes, I agree. I just don't see a way to add it without decreasing the current divine elegance of the tips window.

:? Why couldn't there be another checkbox underneath the existing "Show tips on startup" titled "Always keep on top"? Given that the pixel spacing between tip contents and "Prev"/"Next" buttons is somewhat less than between those bottons and bottom of panel, it seems there should be enough space to add another line...and that could/would balance the spacing between contents/buttons/bottom IF the panel needed to be enlarged just a tad.

Ditto that, I don't think it would look bad to have two checkboxes here. As it is now, there's more than enough space to have the two without problem, I'd say...
