Jump to last item in list and focus on/highlight it

Newbie here, so there may be a way to do this that I have not figured out...

After a re-sort by name or by modification date, I would like to be able to "jump" directly to the first or the last item in the newly sorted list, and highlight that item.

I have figured out how to jump to the *first* item by using a custom keyboard shortcut to "reset list", then pressing the up arrow once to highlight it. (If there is a better way, please share).

Now I would like to jump to the last item and highlight it, preferably also with a keyboard shortcut or a combination of them.

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!

What's wrong with the usual Ctrl+Home and Ctrl+End to achieve this?

Ummm, nothing at all :-) In fact, just "home" and "end" seem to do it and highlight the selected item in one step, which is exactly what I wanted.

At first I felt stupid for having read the instructions, twice, and apparently missing this. But I just looked again, under "Keyboard Shortcuts and Mouse Tricks" , and none of those keys or combos are listed as doing what they do, so I simply didn't know it was that simple.

Now I do. Thank you Ralph!

You're welcome!
If there is a standard key-combo in Windows for something, it is usually worth a try in XYP too.
