Shutdown, screen stays Black.... Xyplorer problem..

Using Windows xp... I put a shortcut to xyplorer in the start-up folder... now when I turn my computer off, I get a black screen at the end and I have to turn the power off at the mains.. the culprit is the Explorer in my start-up folder 
any ideas or help
