Does XYplorer have the ability to interleave files and folders when a directory is sorted by date?

That is to have newest, or oldest, files and folders displayed together, interleaved, in chronological order?

Not sure if I get what you want but
turning off
Configuration | Sort and Rename | Sort | Sort folders apart
should probably do what you want...

Or alternatively,
Configuration | Sort and Rename | Sort | [x] Sort folders apart
plus
[x] Mixed sort on date columns

Thanks for the reply. You pointed me in the right direction. Under "Configuration | Sort and Rename | Sort" one needs to check "Mixed sort on date columns".
