Undo closed Tab

In Firefox I have an addon call Undo Closed Tabs Button and find it very useful a lot of times.
With XY I quite often close a Tab and then shortly after wish I could recall it and possibly others. Is this already available or a possible addition - would appear reasonably easy to provide?

yes, i would like such a feature too. I requested this once, cant remember though.
As of now for any tab i close by mistake i use ctrl+T (to open new tab) followed by alt+left (to go one back in history).

I would imagine this is coming in the massive Undo feature that Don's writing. Don?

I would imagine not, since the planned undo has to do with file operations (copy, rename, move, etc)...
But such a thing might be nice. Although could be enough to have holding Shift work (Open in New Tab) when clicking an item from History or Hotlist...
BTW I think instead of Ctrl+T & Alt+Left you can simply press F7, Go to previous location: Jump to the previous location. If the previous location has been on another tab, this tab is opened (if it still exists, else a new tab is opened).

I, too, cast my vote for Firefox-style (more specifically, Tab Mix Plus-style) tab handling, with the most important feature being Undo Closed Tab.

Opera Browser has the best Tabs. You just need to press Control+Z to open the tab that was closed and this function come with the program. It is not necessary to install plugins.
Firefox is a bad copy of Opera.

I only have to press the "u" key -- a single button, none of that control+key 2-button nonsense Opera users are stuck with.
I'm only joking, I hope you were too. :) I've used Opera 7-9, Chrome, IE 3-8, Netscape 1-6, Firefox 1-3, and most of them on all of: Linux, Mac, Windows, and FreeBSD. Opera is a fine choice for a browser, it's just not my choice. :)
Back on topic -- anyone have thoughts on how many closed tabs should be remembered by default? I'll say 10, because it's a nice round number. It's also the default value for Tab Mix Plus, and it's been very rare indeed that I've wished I saved 11 closed tabs. :)

Yeah, I too would expect something like 10 tabs to be saved. After being used to Opera's lifesaving "closed tabs" feature, this seems so natural to me.

Code: Select all
v7.90.0261 - 2009-05-12 20:43
+ Menu View | Current Tab: Added command "Restore Last Closed Tab".

Strange - I thought 16 would be such a nice round number?
(Just joking

)

I agree that 16 would be a way much rounder value than 10, computer scientist love numbers by the power of two
But why such a small number?
I pressed and hold Ctrl+Z in my Opera until all tabs have been restored (which where over hundred

)
I don't think the information to be saved for one tab itsn't so much that a limit of 256 would waste too much memory.
Also an option to see what tabs have been closed (icon/title/location/...) as list and also an option to erase this list. (This is both present in Opera)

Exactly...I agree, as I can then go back directly to the 4th prev to last closed if I wanted to...and this list is only kept in Opera while session is active...once I close Opera, these are lost/deleted, which I guess would be fine for XY also.
