ok so I want to do some renaming using those "automatic" modes, and I do not have Preview All checked because I don't want to be bother by a preview here.

Yet, I get a preview. Each time. I check it, same. Uncheck it, still preview. Does that option still has any effect?

Yes: unchecking had no effect after a preview had been shown. Fixed.
