Few questions from a new user

1. Is it possible to setup XYplorer to automatically lock all new tabs?

2. When I'm in a folder, is there a short-cut key to do an incremental find so that as I type each character the cursor jumps to the selected file / folder?

3. One feature I really like about the Window File Explorer is the ability to pin a folder to the task bar and have it become part of the jump list for the file explorer. I can then right-click on the task bar icon and see a list of the jump list folders to quickly open on.

4. Is there a way to may XYplorer the default file explorer for the system so it opens instead of the Windows file explorer?

Thanks, Dan

Welcome to the forum.

1. No

2. Don't you have
Configuration | Menus, Mouse, Safety | Type Ahead Find | Enable type ahead find
enabled?
You don't even need a shortcut, you just type
Alternatively: Menu - Window - Show Live Filter Box

03. Afaik no jump list support (yet). At least no official one
But here is one thread where it's stated that it works (Windows 10):

From inside XY there a a dozen different possibilities...

04. Configuration | Shell Integration | Default File Manager

Thanks for the quick reply.

Please consider adding auto locking of new tabs to a future build.

Great product btw, been evaluating a few different file managers and yours has the smoothest GUI by far.

Please make a new topic for that wish here:

And everything is more likely to happen if you describe why
this feature is useful :) Don (the programmer) needs to be convinced
on points where he might have a different opinion (in this case:
if the feature makes sense for probably more than one user) :)

E.g. what you want can already be done by scripting (and placed on the toolbar,
in the catalog or even put on a hotkey)...
