Preview of thumbnail not always in front!

Thumbnail Preview's behind tree/list!

Sometimes when XY loads and I go to view a thumbnail's preview using left or right click on the thumbnail, the preview shows up *behind* the treeview and/or listview.

Or behind the listview but in front of the treeview.

Or behind the treeview and in front of the listview.

I can tell its up because the top of the picture shows up just above the tree/listview, and thru the vertical size bar tween the tree/listviews.

Usually when this happens I exit XY and then load it up again, and then the previews shows up in front like it should.

XY 6.20.0002

(I've been saving up, can you tell!! )

:? Never happened here. Would be easy to fix but I would like to know the conditions first. How can I repro this?

I have no idea! :(

If I run/quit XY 10 times, maybe 2 or 3 of those times it happens.

In other words, no rhyme or reason.

If I figure it out, I'll let you know. :)

EDIT: I know you're gonna tell me that you did nothing but....
This problem seems to have gone away with 6.20.0004. (so far)

As of 6.30.0008, this is happening 100% of the time. No matter how many times I restart XY, the preview is showing up *behind* the listview.

EDIT: Aha!!, it is theme specific. When I went back to the standard XP theme, the preview shows up in front like it should.

Yup, just tried with a bunch of other themes I have, and only the Aero theme (emulates the Vista look) does the preview show up behind the listview)

Very interesting.

EDIT2: Rot, it still happens sometimes with some other themes. Must be something the theme does?
More investigation required.
Don't go away :)

EDIT3: If XY starts with a tab in thumbnail mode, they show up in front. If I then select another tab in thumbnail mode, they show up behind the listview. Going back to the original tab where they showed up in front, they now show up behind.

Quit XY, start XY and they show up in front, until I move to another tab, then to the back they go???

Indeed. Thanks for sharing. I'm surprised about the effects that themes can have.... it's a bit frightening... isn't it?

Well it looks like it has nothing to do with the above.

Ok, I can reproduce this anomaly 100% everytime.

If I have a tab in thumbnail mode with pictures and I left or right click on a picture, it shows in front of the list/treeview as it should.

If I scroll the listview down or up using the thumb in the scroller of the listview, clicking on a pic with left or right mouse button, it shows ok.

But.... if I scroll the listview up or down *with the mouse scrollwheel* bam, the pic shows up behind the listview, everytime!

Looks like using the mouse scrollwheel upsets the Z-Order or On-Top.

Okay, although I'm not able to repro this, I explicitly ensure top z-order in the next version. Hope it helps...
