Questions about folder thumbnails

When I enable "Show folder thumbnails", it always overwrite the thumbnails of folders that already have folder icon in it (folders that have *.ico come with it). Is there any way to prevent it? Also, can I decide which picture will be set as thumbnail image? I have many movie folders that have screenshots, covers and metadata info. The screenshots always have number in its file name. I want to set only the picture which doesn't have number in its file name (the cover) to be the folder thumbnail. Is it possible to include those kinds of rules for the folder thumbnails?

It's not really related to XYplorer but I think I should ask anyway. The thing is I'm using Listery ("Find as you type" feature) combine with XYplorer. Every time I open XYplorer, Listery would only recognize the other pane. Therefore, I always have to enable dual pane and use the other pane for "Find as you type" feature to work. Does anyone know why it behaves like that and may be the solution?

You have to tick this: Configuration | Thumbnails | Show folder thumbnails
Then an image called "folder.jpg" will overwrite any icon assigned in desktop.ini.
(see also "Folder thumbnails" in the Help file)

This question should go to Listery devs.

Hey Don, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you went the other way on this (i.e., the desktop.ini (the image specified by the Logo=...) takes priority over the folder.jpg). I ran a test to confirm.

Whoops, you are right! The order of precedence is:

1) desktop.ini / [ViewState] Logo=
2) folder.jpg
3) folder.png
4) folder.gif
5) *.jpg/*.png (alphabetically first JPG, if none then first PNG)
6) desktop.ini / [.ShellClassInfo] IconFile=

Can I change this order to my preference? I want to prioritize the icon file to be the folder thumbnails.

You can achieve that simply by turning off folder thumbnails here:
Configuration | Thumbnails | Show folder thumbnails

Sorry for not stating it clearly. What I try to achieve here is showing the folder thumbnail images for folders that don't have the icon file in it. The folders that have the icon file should show the icon image instead of thumbnails generate by XYplorer.

OK, understood. Well, sorry, that's not possible.
