I've added the pdf to the Text files for preview but then only get codes lines of the pdf files not the pages themselves.
Anyone get the same problems?

It doesn't belong there. It's already in "Office Files". You need a 32-bit PDF Viewer that installs the necessary preview handler. Like https://www.tracker-software.com/produc ... nge-editor

That is it worked with the 17.40 beta version.
Now that I downgrade to the 16.80 version it works no more.
Is that normal?

But why do you use 16.80? Use 17.50, it's better!

My keys are for 16 version, upgrade to 17 would cost some $40 and my usage does not justify this spending.

Thank you for the offer but I am not a student, just a regular home user; the preview is very useful and time saving for looking thru the files. I experience that problem for pdf preview since the beginning of my subscription to XYPlorer.
On my computer I have Adobe acrobate Reader, and Nitro Pro version 10 installed. Both work effortlessly with pdf.

So 17.40 works with Acrobat Reader? First time I hear that...

No I didn't mean it. I mean why the PDF xchange works while the software that are designed to work with pdfs didn't. Why xyplorer does not use the other engines to enable PDF preview.

Because Adobe does not install the necessary preview handler.
