Turn OFF Automatic Mouse-Quick-Scroll

Hello!
I really, REALLY hope there is a way to turn this OFF because it is _EXTREMELY_ Frustrating. In fact, Perhaps it is a BUG when using XYplorer on my computer . . .

When I click in the Vertical Scrollbar because I want to view the list ONE-Screen-At-A-Time, After I Release the mouse-button, the List will (Oftentimes) begin scrolling rapidly ---
Totally, Frustratingly, Defeating my purpose because it causes me to completely lose my place.

Does ANYONE else experience this . . . and can this behavior be turned OFF?

Thank you for your help!!

Chuck Colsch

Since no one answered, I wrote a tiny program whereby the keys PGDN & PGUP Universally move Down & Up through File Lists by a Full Screen.

Hi Chuck! Sad to see that your post was left unanswered!

Just had a test: when I *short* click into the vertical scrollbar (of list as well as of tree) it moves for just one page. If I hold down the button for a bit longer it starts to auto-scroll. This seems OK for me.

But I do remember (and have seen myself) that there were problems like you descibed in the past. (I released the button, but scroll continued untill I moved the mouse, I think.) So perhaps there are situations when this still happens. In that case I would name it a bug. :bug:

Could you give a hint of what kind of view (details or whatever) you are using when it happens?

Have a good Christmas
Peter

Hello Peter!
Sorry for my Delay! GMail has this perverse view of forum emails--placing them in Spam. (Guess I need a filter for that.)

Yes, probably the problem is partly with me since I have Not Updated XYplorer in a while, so what I described might be a Past bug.
Basically what happened was, when I simply CLICK in the Scrollbar (Instantly Releasing the Mousebutton) --- My XYplorer version would operate like I was _Holding_ the Button down! Ohmygosh!—Soooo Frustrating!

Turns out, It was actually a blessing, since XYplorer does different types of Screen-Down/Screen-Up depending on, EG, if you are using the •Mousewheel, versus clicking in the •Scrollbar, versus pressing •PgDn/PgUp, AND •What type of View is current --- Yikes!!
So, with the program I wrote, PgDn/PgUp _ALWAYS_ moves a _FULL screenload—Without Even a single line repeating, and it works the same if your View is "Details", "Thumbnails #3", or Whatever. It is exactly what my simple mind expects. And it operates on the Left/Right Pane based on whether the Mouse is hovering over Left-Pane, Right-Pane, or Single Pane — (With Zero difference in which pane was Active). I really like it! Frustration is often the mother of progress!

Hope your Christmas Season is going well! :)

Chuck

P.S., It was only after I wrote the above that I noticed you are German! That is Great! I had the privilege of living in your beautiful country for several years. It would be a bit hard on me now though since the current politicians there make me so very angry -- I don't know that I could deal with it! So ... I’ll just be mad about it on this side of the Atlantic.
