Bizarre Sorting Problem

Windows 10 Home x64
XYPlorer 17.30

This is a clean install from the ground up. XYPlorer was installed with version 16.10 (which had this problem) and it still exists in 17.30.

I have the global sort setting to sort folders at the top. Usually that works out fine. However the My Documents folder will not follow the rule. If I sort by Name in ascending order, the folders are at the bottom of the list. If I change to descending they jump to the top, but then everything is in reverse order. THIS ONLY HAPPENS IN THE MY DOCUMENTS FOLDER! None of its subfolders are affected. I've not found any other folders that exhibit this behavior.

Very strange. Does anyone have an ides what might be wrong? As I said, it's a new, clean install.

Post a screenshot of View - Folder View Settings - Manage Folder View... (if you have the pro version)

Is it still broken if you use
fresh; {ENTER}

from the address bar and change that "sort folders at the top" setting?

I'm not sure what you mean. Where do I enter the command? I don't see an address line, just the text field showing my current folder.

just the text field showing my current folder
And that's the adddress bar where you enter that command

Code: Select all

fresh;
and press the enter key afterwards to execute that.

For an alternative method see https://www.xyplorer.com/faq-topic.php?id=fresh

I uninstalled and reinstalled twice. The second time seems to be the charm. The folders that were "problems" before are sorting correctly. I have no idea what the issue was, but it seems to be corrected now.
