Preview custom file types

I would like the ability to add custom file viewers to XYPlorer.
The way it works in DoPus is the user associates a file type with the .exe file that opens that file. The DopUs preview window simply hosts the active x component.
Is this possible in XYPlorer or worthy of consideration? I would really like to be able to look at DXF files (not the text code, the rendered image) and I have a piece of software that can view them. I have so many I must browse I would like them to be accessible withing XYPlorer (as I can now in DoPus).

Frankly, I have enough great other things on my todo-list. Plus: I don't know out of the box how to do this if possible. Any VB-crack around? Point me to the direction... If it's easy I'll be happy to add it...

Great program!
Here's an easy addition to make that would be very helpful:
Allow users to add file extensions to the existing file types list, associated with the current viewers. If I want to preview for example .vbs or .bat/.cmd files as text, I would add that extension to the text viewer. Same for .shtml files using the HTML viewer. This would be an improvement over the current
"Automatically show non-previewed file types in ASCII/Hex mode" option because there are many file types I do not want to preview and this option attempts to show everything.
Thanks!
Bryan

You can already add your own extensions to the different previews (Image, Audio/Video & Office/Web). See on
XYwiki for how to do it.

Yes, we think so! And glad you agree!
Anyway, just wanted to say welcome to the XY forums!
As a new user, there are some features that are not quite as obvious so feel free to ask for pointers here (especially in the Tips/Tr/Q&A forum) if you can't locate something...if it's not available, then we can explore making it a Wish.
