Hi Don,

since some days I noticed that after some dozens of minutes XY always auto-jumps to the tree root node "ThisPC".

I have not found a clear pattern yet, but so far
- after going back in tab history the next jump usally needs > 10 minutes to occurr (XY is backgrounded)
- it seems to be related to the default tab
- it is not occurring in a fresh instance (with default tab set up similarily)

Would catch this?

this drives me nuts. The debug commands indicate there is something going on. But I have no idea what and why this is recurrently casing this root tree jump.

I know this obviously is an totally individual issue of mine, that to make matters worse smells like a painful task to hunt down. But since I now face it on three machines I have to bother again.

For whatever reason the desktop(s) fire an event (see my last post) that I do fail to see any valid triggers at all (my desktops are empty besides the usual Windows desktop icons and ini-files).
Locking the Home Zone helps nothing since it's (only) the default tab that is affected. I'm pretty sure it's associated with my configuration/XYplorer.ini (which I have copied over to serve as my template configuration to my other machines).

Any idea what I can do to find the root cause? Setting up a new config from fresh is really the last resort I try to avoid as long as possible.

Obviously the fix was too aggressive since at your end the routine also is triggered when no portable device is plugged in or out, right?

Are you using mini or maxi tree, locked or unlocked?

It was worth every jump! Don't know why so little people seem to use it.

Locked, should be maxi tree underneath.

Well, I thought I had a trace but now it's gone. Cannot reproduce any jump to root.

Not yet perfectly reproducible but I think it requires
- a default tab (didn't check about the locked home zone which it also has over here)
- a locked (maxi) tree
- and a notification event (at least I see a strong correlation with those Win 10 notifications)
