Unable to rename in lists when left-click with mouse

I am using the last beta v17.20.103.

I am unable to rename folders or files in list when I single-click with the left button.
I have to forcibly use F2 to rename an item in a list.
If instead i single-click with the left button in the tree items the items enters in edit mode.

I would like the same behavior of windows explorer where I can single-click with the left button on an item to rename it.

Maybe there is some config option that prevents rename on single-click with the left button?

Menu - Tools - Customize List - Rename on Slow Double-Click

I have checked Menu - Tools - Customize List - Rename on Slow Double-Click but id does not work.
So I removed the check.

I would like to enter rename mode with a single left click, like in explorer

Rename on Slow Double-Click works like this: if a single item is selected, and you single-left-click that item then rename mode is entered.

(beta v17.20.103)
I have double checked Rename on Slow Double-Click is checked :-)
but a single click on a list item does not enter in rename mode.
I even restarted XYPlorer after having ckecked Rename on Slow Double-Click is checked, just in case
If I single click on the list item icon then the item is launched/opened, and I think this is the expected behavior when clicking an icon.

what else can I try?

Click the name, not the icon.

OR

Untick this:
Configuration | Menus, Mouse, Safety | Mouse | Single click on icon opens list items

Yes I've single clicked on the name (not on the icon) and it still does not enter rename mode.
I've also tried to temporary disable single click on icon opens list items, yet not entering rename mode.

You've clicked a single item really twice (first click to select it, a second later a click to invoke rename mode) - While: Menu - Tools - Customize List - Rename on Slow Double-Click is checked and you clicked the name, not the icon?

Yes exactly.
but even if I first select an item then wait some second then single click it again on the name, it does not enter edit mode

I have tried other disk too (my HDD fixes sata disk D:\)

to no avail

For what it worth...

Un-checking Tools, Customize List, Checkbox Selection now I am able to rename an item with a single left-click on it.

May be I miss the documentation about the fact that enabling checkbox selection precludes renaming items with a single left click on them. Maybe this is by design, I do not know.

Anyway, problem solved

thank you all

Aaah! Now I see what's going on.

You probably had this ticked:
Configuration | Styles | Sticky checkbox selection

If you untick it you can go back to checkbox selection and have left-click rename at the same time.
