i have several tabs opened , can i have different sort order for each tab?
for exaplme 1)tab 1 c:\temp sort->size 2)second tab h:\photos sort created and so on

You can create a specific Folder View for each of those two locations and include sort order in the configuration of the view.

but will xyploere remember these settings?

can i add in whishlist ? would be nice click direcly on size and let xyplorer remember the sort order of the folder tab

Why not using Configuration (F9) > Colors and Sytyes > Styles > Remember List settings per tab?

Of course, the settings are then bound to the tab (no matter what location) and not to the path (as with FVS).

Yes, XYplorer will remember the folder view settings between sessions. Here's what you do:

• 1. Add the Folder View Settings toolbar button. It's a big blue F.
  2. Go to the folder and set up your view as you want it (sort order, columns, etc.)
  3. Then click on the toolbar button. That will create the folder view for that folder with your current settings.
  4. You may want to then edit the newly created view further. For example, you'll probably want the same view for all subfolders under "h:\photos". To do that and other things, right-click on the toolbar button and go into Edit...
  5. For removable drives, I recommend you replace the drive letter of the folder path with the volume label, otherwise the view settings won't take effect should the drive be connected at another time under a different drive letter.

Even smarter, one can combine both ways. Since the tab's (view) memory has precedence over a defined FVS, one can assign the standard view settings to the path via FVS and nevertheless can have a(nother) tab using a different view config.

This can be useful, when your desired standard view e. g. uses large tiles but you want/need a 2nd tab in details mode.

It means that the view settings you save are applied to the particular folder path wherever you navigate to that path, regardless of what tab you are in. In contrast, the approach suggested by filehero has the settings applied to a particular tab, regardless of what folder is currently being listed in the tab. You can also do both ways at the same time, as he mentions.

doesn't work when i close xyplorer or use the portable version, because it's lost my sort order
