LiveFilterDelay ?

As Live Filter is either on or off how does having an adjustable delay benefit user? (Still relatively new here so if I am missing something obvious please understand.)

It's a delay between when a character is typed and when the list is filtered.
Having it adjustable is an attempt to lessen the impact of slow list drawing affecting the user's ability to type the filter. (As seen
here.)
While live filter tends to be either on or off there is a third state where it transitions between the two and under some conditions that transition is not instantaneous.

E.g., when you set LiveFilterDelay=400, then the Live Filter is applied 400 msecs after the last key stroke. So when you type faster than 400 msecs per stroke you can type your pattern without any reload of the list while your are typing.
