Hello. I'm using XYPlorer on Windows 7 x64.

Here are three questions:

1.
I have quite a few videos with cached thumbnails in C:\Movies.
So when I execute command it works as expected - cached thumbnails are shown.

But when I try to add another folder for viewing XYPlorer tries to create thumbnails all over again for C:\Movies (and if option "show only cached thumbnails" enabled, then no thumbnails are shown).

How to fix this issue? My XYPlorer Thumbnails folder weights 5 GB, so I don't want it to be doubled for nothing.

2.
When browsing C:\Movies XYPlorer automatically creates proper Location for search bar if I press search button. But when I'm on C:\Movies;D:\Movies search Location remains on C:\Movies so I have to mannually add the second path. How to fix this issue?

3.
If I create a thumbnail and do not close XYPlorer properly (e.g. terminate it from task manager or due to unexpected system shutdown), the whole thumbnail data base is not read by XYPlorer on the next start, so I should recreate the whole bunch of thumbnails all over again. Is there any way to fix this issue?

Hi and welcome to the club!

1. Yes, that's a drawback of the current cache architecture.

2. Are you talking about the Location box in the Find Files tab? It remembers a multi location term if it has been entered there.

3. Cannot reproduce. (But even if you'd get a fatal crash right in the split second when the thumbnails are written to disk it's not the whole thumbnails database but just the thumbnails of the currently listed folder that would be affected).

2. Yes it's about Location box in the Find Files tab. So when I have C:\Movies? in my Address bar and press Search button (in Toolbar) it automatically puts C:\Movies or any other folder i'm currently browsing. But if i have C:\Movies;D:\Movies? in my Address bar and press Search button, then Location box remains with the last remembered folder, not the current two.

3. How would you like me to reproduce the behaviour? Should I create a test database of couple thumbnails and try to corrupt it with described above ways and send this database files to you?
By the way I'm using 15.40.0100 version (I don't update local software if I don't see anything interesting in changelog, except the case if it is a web browser or another security sensitive software). Should I update beforehand or it's not necessary? (I'd rather not).

It would be great if on entering C:\Movies;D:\Movies? in address bar, and if D:\ happens to be unmounted at that time, XYPlorer would show at least C:\Movies results, not just an error message "Search location is currently not available".

5.
I believe that user-set icons for files should have more priority than automatically generated thumbnails. For example *.avi files do not have any built abilities to set a custom thumbnail, so I have to make an icons for such files, but if I press "Create missing thumbnails" the icon that I've previously set will be replaced by a random thumbnail. I think that this behaviour should be changed.

If I put C:\Movies;D:\Movies? /:flatfiles to Address bar, those directories will appear among other files, ignoring the /:flatfiles flag. That's a bug, I suppose.

2. Not here. The Location box in the Find Files tab is not affected by running a search through the Address Bar (a so-called Quick Search). Find Files and Quick Search are independent interfaces.

3. Please update to the recent version. All my comments and checks are on the recent version.
