View settings?

Coming from the new folder size caching it seems I'm once again stumbling over my "famous" challenge to put together the different ways of view settings XY is offering.

My basic most simple understanding
- FVS is per path
- "Remember list settings per tab" is per tab when checked (it is checked)

My "challenge": how to make an col-specific context switch specific (in my tries I used Modified|Show Age) for a single tab?
At least with a fresh 16.80.0001, it always applies to all open tabs (and paths once one of the tab's location is additionally saved as e FVS).

I know it can't be a bug (such a major one stays undiscovered just for seconds), but my brain that plays tricks on me.
What step I am missing here? Can some one please give me fool-proof how-to for it?
