Is there a way to float a video preview?

FP supports playing all videos.

FP (F11) does not play a video. It only shows a still picture (probably the first frame of the video).
PP (ctl+F11) plays the video, but is missing the controls.
The Info pane / Preview Tab plays the video and has the video viewer controls.
Is there an option/setting that will FLOAT the Info Pane version?

If Preview Pane would not preview them either, I would have said:
OK, this can only mean you have no preview handlers (32-bit) for those formats on your system. Can Explorer preview those videos?
But since you say: Preview Pane does it, but Floating Preview does not, I say:
Huh???

I have a quick question. Can XYplorer Preview (F11) .mp4 (Video) and .m4a (Audio) file types by default? I'm currently getting a "No Preview Available" error message. If not, can you please show me how to add this capability to my Win 7 Home Premium x64 system?
I'm currently using the VLC Media Player and the Media Player Classic (Black Edition) for most of my file associations.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum
Windows 7 can't do this by default. It has no .mp4 codec in-built. You can install e.g. K-Lite Codec Pack
to solve this "problem"...

Thank you for the prompt reply. I installed the K-Lite_Codec_Pack_13.2.4_Basic and that did the trick to show a still picture of an .mp4 video file and the cover art of an .m4a audio file. Should it play the audio/video files as well? Is there another way to enable the Preview to play Music & Video files?
Thanks

XYplorer version?
In which preview do you see the image, floating?
Did you try a fresh version of XY to rule out any config errors?
Just copy XYplorer.exe, XYcopy.exe and ContextMenu64.exe
to a different folder, e.g. C:\Temp\XYplorer and start it from there

I Just know that FP can play video. I thought it normal. No problem for me.
FYI. My XYplorer (18.00.0011) don't play video in FP too but can play in PP (no video control button) and Preview in Info Pane (has video control button).

The floating preview should play MP4 when the Codecs are installed. I get the control buttons of WMP and have to press Start to make it play.

The Preview Pane (and Preview tab) are using Quartz.dll (aka DirectShow) for previewing streaming media IF it can preview them (in that case XY's internal media controls (Play, Pause, Stop) are shown, otherwise they fall back to WMP or whatever is the installed preview handler.
The Floating Preview goes directly to WMP or whatever is the installed preview handler. For some reason these cannot preview the video on your system. In that case XYplorer falls back to showing a thumbnail still of the movie.
