XYP PRO will NOT display Win 10 icons - in spite of what Admin says...
Some of us like to use the very same M$ icons in all applications.

Can XYP show folder icons or not

Post by pat55 »

Can XYP show folder icons or not?
I'm looking for the default standard MS icons as they display in the MS File Explorer
and any other application that I have. (The custom icon "process" in XYP is not for me)

Is there a script that one can run or some sort of obscure setting to achieve this?
Why is this not the default right now? It must have taken some effort to unprogram - does anybody know why?
pat
PS.
I do like the BOLD favorites and the color filters very mouch.

Sure it can?

Post two screenshots

a.) The list view with the "wrong" icons
b.) Menu - Configuration... - General - Refresh, Icons, History settings

You're telling XY to use generic icons for all controls by changing these settings from their defaults (shown here):

I recommend you change your configuration to only use generic icons for network locations by checking But only in network locations.

Great - it all works with everything under icons checked! THANKS GUYS -so glad I asked!
What does the first item "Draw selected list items dimmed" actually do and why would I want that???
I see NO difference either on or off??? Even when XY is restarted.

THANKS AGAIN

That setting only applies to the list pane (not the tree) and slightly dims the selected item's icons..

It's not very prominent but you should see a difference between these two:

OK - I must accept the fact that I'm going blind :-)
Thanks for the great efforts and my $70 to 'the cause' was not wasted.

If you can't trust your eyes, how about Beyond Compare?
