disable/remove horizontal scroll bar in treeview?

Hi, is it possible to disable/remove the horizonatal scrollbar in the tree view? I know this option is available in other file explorers. I just can't find the setting anywhere.

XYplorer sometimes moves the treeview if a folder extends beyond the rightmost border. I know the mouse scroll wheel moves the horizontal scrollbar when this happens. But it seems sometimes the horizontal scrollbar moves on its own accord.

Thanks

It would be great to have a tweak to hide the horizontal scrollbar in the tree.

So just drop any horizontal scrolling in the Tree? Like in the Catalog (with ellipsis dots)? Or not even dots (like in File Explorer it seems). Wow, I never noticed that File Explorer has no horizontal scrollbar -- probably because I never use File Explorer. :)

Yes I was thinking of the same behavior as Windows Explorer. I suppose inserting ellipsis dots can't hurt, but that's not a requirement for me.

I played with Explorer and find it not very usable. You seem to have no chance to see deeper levels apart from widening the tree pane, right?

Yes that's correct. I agree that it is not usable if you are opening lots of levels.

I use the MiniTree locked thus I control the number of levels opened, and a long name folder can make the horizontal scrollbar appear - which I don't like because I sometimes scroll on the right without wanting it. This is very specific, that's why I asked for a tweak only in the first place.

Please don't. Care to entertain the idea of autohiding scrollbars for a evening?

I'm not such a fan of auto-hiding. I'll add a tweak.

For reference, the added tweak is:

Code: Select all

TreeNoHoriScroll

Could this tweak be tweaked by disabling horizontal scrolling (e.g. by the mouse cursor being next to the border) but still showing the scroll bar for manual/deliberate scrolling?

Are you talking about auto-scrolling while drag and drop?

Yes. Dragging files/folders from the list to the tree will inevitably scroll the tree to the right. Most of the time, I don't need to see the rightmost part of folder names in the tree. Sometimes, it would be nice to scroll to the right manually, which TreeNoHoriScroll doesn't allow for.

Only happens in the extreme right borderland. Just drag over it fast and no scrolling will happen.
