About Donald and the company

I'm really happy about the potential that tagging and comments bring to my workflow and there are a great many other features I will be using as well at some point. As some others have mentioned, I only need the free features but those are so valuable to me I will be paying for a Pro version anyway.

So, I started looking at what other products "the company" makes because I would probably want those too. But it looks like the company is mainly Donald. Is that so? I am fine with that and it might only matter when it comes to deciding on the Pro or Lifetime license (Donald, if you are 90 years old maybe I don't want the lifetime license after all ). I don't even really need to know the details of Donald or the company at all, and a PM would be as good as a posted response. I am just curious.

Also curious about the language this was implemented in and future plans for the scripting language. I don't expect to use scripting, or at least not much, but since Libre Office has bindings that allow users to automate, in the VBA sense, using other languages such as Python I wonder if an existing formal language makes sense here. I suppose the tasks and environment are so specific it probably makes the most sense to have a custom language for it.

1. Yes, it's a one man show
2. It's written in Visual Basic
3. There is the internal scripting engine (with a PHP-like syntax). There are no .dlls to use other languages by exposing XY's api but you can still use them by communicating with XY bei either using WM_COPYDATA or by calling XY via commandline and a script

It's a fair (though Existential) question... Don. Are you, in fact, 90 years old? Not that I expect you to die or anything, but if you did, would the company die with you? Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter. I'll be 45 years old in a couple months, so there's a good chance you'll out-live me. And that's the important thing.

Regarding XYScritping: You'll be surprised how useful it can be. I've only done very minimal scripting myself, but I very frequently use some of the gems created by others here.

It's totally okay if you buy a Standard License every year (it's even better for me moneywise). My age is rather irrelevant since I will probably die from a snake byte bite, from malaria, or from the Cologne Carnival. If that risk is too high for you use the Free Edition.
