Hi huyaowen, the Favorite Folder will always open up in a new tab if the following 3 conditions are met. (1) if you have no default tab established, and (2) you do not have a tab already set for that particular Favorite Folder you are entering and (3) the Favorite Folder is not within the range of folders/subfolders of a established tab with a Homezone.

If you would like to force a new tab regardless of whether a tab already exists for the folder you can do the following:

- go to the Tools menu and click on List Management, and then click on "Favorite Folders..."

- a typical entry for a normal Favorite Folder might look like this: G:\Wallpaper\

- a Favorite Folder with an icon assigned might look like this: "Wallpaper|D:\Graphics\Icons\video_03.ico" G:\Wallpaper\

- to force a new tab every time you click on that Favorite Folder: "Wallpaper|D:\Graphics\Icons\video_03.ico" Tab("new", "G:\Wallpaper\");

Good luck.

I would have given a different reply:

In XYplorer, whenever you go to a new location, you can force it to open in a new tab by holding SHIFT.

Aah yes, forgot about that one. I figured he was referring to the opening Favorite folders in the Favorite Folders menu. Though you can also use the shift key trick to open that Favorite Folder in a new tab via the Favorite Folder menu as well. What I had given would do it all the time without the shift key.

Thanks all.

Could you add a check setting at the Manage Favorite Folders' panel just like "open this favorite item in new tab"?

I found a bug manybe.

1.Open 2 xyplorer window.just called the first one: xy-a window ,the next one: xy-b window.
2.Edit the favorite folder in xy-b.

G:\Wallpaper\ ------> "Wallpaper|D:\Graphics\Icons\video_03.ico" G:\Wallpaper\

3.Test in xy-b,it is ok.
4.Close xy-b
5.Close xy-a
6.Run xyplorer again
7.Open Manage favorite folder panel,still :G:\Wallpaper\

thanks.

Let me guess:

Configuration | Startup & Exit | Save settings on exit

is checked?

More explicit: XY reads the config file on start, and writes it back on exit (if "Save Settings on Exit" is selected), or if you manually save settings.

So the contents of the config file is always the last saved.

I have found possibly a bug. I use the middle mouse button anytime i want to open my favorites menu and if i hold shift there it does not open the favorite in a new tab at all. It however does open in a new tab if i get to that menu from the toolbar, but thats not how I use that menu.

What's wrong with your left button? Is it broken? (Open in new tab is Shift+LeftClick)
