Would someone explain the difference between "Show All Items in Branch" and "Branch View"? While two separate and distinct items in the menu system they seem to produce the same results on screen.

"Show All Items in Branch" is equivalent to a quick search of * /r (show all items recursively).

"Branch View" has its own settings and the results largely depend on how it is configured. (Equivalent to a quick search of /:flat)

By default they should show all the same items, but if you configure branch view differently (like to only show files) then the differences become more apparent.

EDIT: Here are some differences in a default configuration:
1) Branch View inherits the current column configuration, while Show All... uses the search mode's columns. (Branch View inherits Current Columns)
2) Branch View will indent items based on their depth. (Level-Indent)
3) Branch View will apply visual filters only to files. (Let Folders Pass All Filters)

Ouch - that is a lot to process. Given all that versatility is that why Branch View warrants a toolbar button but Show All Items in Branch does not?

That and historical reasons - Show All Items... existed long before Branch View.

Thanks for your assistance, The Qwerty. While this program is powerful it comes with subtleties - like this one - that can be difficult to iron out.
