Reorganize Catalog Context Menu

badams007 rightly observed that the Catalog Context Menu might be a bit confusing to newbies. D'accord! Even myself when I use it there's a split-second where my eyes fly around looking for the place to click. So, let's do it better. What about this:
Catalog Category Context Menu
Code: Select all
Add New Category Here...
Import as New Category Here
Current List
Favorite Folders
Favorite Files
Add New Item Here...
Insert as New Item Here
Current Tree Folder
Selected List Item(s)
Current Address Bar Contents
Current Tab Location
Move Up
Move Down
Copy All Items in Category
Delete (from Catalog)
Delete (from Catalog, no Prompt)
Rename
Refresh All Icons
Properties
Catalog Item Context Menu
Code: Select all
Open
Go to
Go to in New Tab
Go to in New Background Tab
Add New Category Here...
Import as New Category Here
Current List
Favorite Folders
Favorite Files
Add New Item Here...
Insert as New Item Here
Current Tree Folder
Selected List Item(s)
Current Address Bar Contents
Current Tab Location
Move Up
Move Down
Copy
Paste
Paste Here to New Subfolder...
Delete (from Catalog)
Delete (from Catalog, no Prompt)
Rename
Refresh All Icons

Given that folks can have various screen layouts, and in mine, the Catalog occupies only the lower left corner, so when I right click, I have to move mouse up the menu, whereas if menu appears below pointer, you move mouse down the menu, then the order of items can make usage either easier or harder, since distance travelled can be less or more...
That relates to where category options appear, since they are less used than item options and should thus be futher away from entry point to menu...but given fact that menu may be either above or below mouse, not sure if that's possible.
So...right now, the category options are below item, which makes sense as they are less often used, and thus when you look thru list, yiu see them later when reading top-to-bottom, but I can see how having them above might relate more to how they are used.

Yes, frequence of usage was my reason to put Items above Category.
The other change I suggested was to pack the "add new item..." into a submenu "import as new item..." just as it is already done with category. Again, I mixed about it. It makes the menu shorter and more readable, but some often used commands are further away now... hm.

Moving the "new item" to submenu might not be
that bad, as I'd suspect one doesn't constantly add items to Catalog...to originally set it up, yes, but after that, not maybe as often...so it might be ok to do so...
I'd likely move "new item" to submenu on the Item level, but keep it as is on Category level, as the Item context menu is already quite long compared to Category...ok, so that's a bit inconsistent...

Probably I just can't find it, but is there a way to move the catalogue to the right of the screen while keeping the tree on the left?

Nice garbling effect. My monitor is too small to develop this
And I see your left statusbar section is a little small...

When you are running 1600×1200 it would be fantastic to be able to dock the catalogue on the RHS of the screen - that's all the screenshot shows.
You're quite right, the tree is small - I've just had a couple of wishes because of you mentioning these things

Well, depends what you call "often used"

I don't know if people do add items to their Catalog that often, but when they do having to use a submenu migh not be such a big deal, and since it helps having a smaller/cleaner menu I think it's for the best.
