I am not an advanced user so maybe this option already exists.

I was wondering if it's possible to have a search window available even if the application is closed That would be available on the desktop etc..

So when you need to do a quick search you simply enter your keywords and the default search settings would open the application and show the results

Currently no such option exists.
However, I believe a number of other members have configured Everything to work well with XYplorer and use that for similar tasks.

+1 for Everything. Great program. BTW, new beta out today!
