Referring to v15.70.0120 log (Posts: 36626), it states:
Code: Select all
!>\x61 is parsed as NOT RegExp(\x61)
Indeed, it lists all items containing no "d". However, XY Find Files remains under the "Standard" mode and behaves more like a regex mode. The Bible doesn't mention XY can interpret the "\x" hex.
Question:
Why does XY not switch to regex mode by the presence of ">" in the pattern?

">" is an inline RegExp marker that overwrites the setting in the Mode field.

But in this case, the RegExp marker, namely, ">", is preceded by "!". Does the ">" still take effect?
I would enter ">!>\x61" in the Name field for clarity.

The ">" still takes effect. Everything after ">" should be RegExp. So "!" must be before ">".

Got it. Thanks you for clearing up all ambiguities.
In particular, the key concept here is:

It should be added into the Bible.
