Any plans to provide 64bit binaries?
(he asked hopefully)

Please search for 64bit in this forum and you'll find explanations why it's rather unlikely in the near future.

On Star Trek, 32 bit XYplorer is still being used.

It's a transliteration into Latin characters. Most people cannot read Klingon writing.

Every XYPlorer updates comes with fancy new features I don't mind, and something serious such as x64 support is forgotten for some obscure reasons

Since when is the non availability of an x64 compiler for visual basic an "obscure reason"?

Would that mean that XYplorer relies on obsolete tools?
I am not a specialist of Visual Basic, but searching on google shows that it's possible to produce 64 bit native apps with Visual Basic.Net

Since when is the x86 compiler for VB an obsolete tool?
And no, XY is VB, not VB.net

my 5 cents: any program that goes to .net becomes mastodon about resources, so no-no-no.

And my two cents: vb.Net is a joke. C# would be a better choice.
Although since Don has made most of XY on Windows API, C++ should really be the best, in terms of speed.

Well, we can only hope... Looks like Don has been studying C++ since 27 september, so I guess we can expect that 64bit version any time now

I'm holding out for the 128 bit version. Also, my next car will fly and my cleaning lady will be a robot.
