Invert and Grayscale

As the new Invert and Grayscale make no change to the graphic they seem to be little more then toys to play with. Isn't that straying from the Mission Statement of being a File Manager?
Now if a dialog box came up with something like "Keep | Cancel" that would be different.

These are special ways to view image files, totally okay for a file manager, especially for one with a bit of photo love. I think actually changing the contents of files would go beyond file management.

As the code author you're the boss. Apparently some folks do enjoy these features or you would not have put them in.

I've been hoping for a grayscale preview for some time, was pleased to find it in the new version, then disappointed it doesn't work! Invert (Ctrl-I) and histogram (Ctrl-H) and white border (Ctrl-W) work, but nothing happens when Ctrl-G (for grayscale preview) is pressed. It doesn't work with any image. System: Win7 Ultimate, Sony Vaio. Suggestions welcome.

Works fine here. Are you using the latest version?

Yes, I am using the latest version: 16.00.0200. I press f11 to get floating preview, then Ctrl-G, and nothing happens. Nothing happens with any image. As previously mentioned, Ctrl-I, Ctrl-H, and Ctrl-W work fine. Only Ctrl-G for grayscale -- which is the only function I would really like to use -- doesn't work.

What if you enable grayscale via the right-click menu?

The 'enable grayscale' option does not appear in the right-click menu, either in Preview mode or in Floating Preview monde. In other words, there is no place to select to enable grayscale. This option does not exist. However, the other functions ((invert, histogram, white border) work fine without being enabled or otherwise selected.

Look for "Advanced Options..." in the menu...

Ah yes, Grayscale is in 'Advanced options'. (This additional step is not mentioned in the Help instructions.) So the procedure is:
F11 > rt-click > Advanced options > Check Grayscale
Then, to return to the color preview, the following procedure:
F11 > rt-click > Advanced options > Uncheck grayscale
Why not make grayscale more directly accessible, without the extra step of plowing through 'Advanced options', then reversing the rather cumbersome procedure to return to the color Preview? Grayscale if by far the most useful of those four functions, in fact, the only useful one of the four. But I'm happy it's there at all, even if it is a bit hard to find.

So it works. What not works is Ctrl+G. I wonder why.
Anybody else has a problem with Ctrl+G?

kamprint, maybe CTRL+G is locked by another [background] application?

Thanks SammaySarkar, you got it! When I closed the other application, Ctrl-G worked fine.
