Double vision in the tree

In 5.80.0015, I sometimes notice that my tree has doubled-up images of its folders -- the folders are duplicated. Using Ctrl+Shift+F4 refreshes and removes the double images. But......... I'd say this is a bug.

Is there a way of duplicating it? Because I have never seen it until now.

I'm afraid I don't know how to duplicate. It has happened to me about four or five times over several weeks. It seems to occur when I have not been using XY for awhile, then take a look and notice the duplication of folders in the tree.
I wonder if it's as simple as a video refresh issue of some kind, and perhaps not connected directly to XY as an app.

I know this bug from some years ago. Then I fixed it (about 2 years ago) and have never seen it since. Either it's back or the fix was not complete. It was (is?) related to an automatic refresh happening when the tree notes that it is out of synch with reality. I just cannot reproduce it anymore.
Do you have autorefresh off for some reason?

I have autorefresh on file system changes -- checked. And also checked is include network locations. I believe these settings have been set for quite awhile, so I believe the lack of refresh is happening (occasionally) with these settings in place.

Are you seeing this only since 5.80.0015?

I'm pretty sure that I've seen this in earlier versions. It's not common, just occasional.

"ah-ah!" - he said for no apparent reason.
Ok I was sure I had seen this too, and here's a way to get it for sure: change location & while XY is still getting the folder content set up a VF.
I think it happened to me without VF involved as well, but i think it was always linked to something while XY is busy. Maybe Calculate Folder Sizes.... Or maybe I'm wrong...

Tried but could not reproduce. I'll have an eye on it...

Probably because you're not fast enough

, you gotta beat XY there: you must activate the VF after asking to change location but before it's actually there. Or else it works fine.
And now with the superfast new sorting algo, can be even harder to do. Luckyly for me I have some folders with lots of files&folders, so the first time I go there XY needs a bit of time to get it all done, so I can beat it. Tried again just now, first time I got it again, but now I can't no more. Might even be that it needs to be done after XY done some things (like check nodes states, etc) but before it starts getting file list.. I don't know. But it happens I'm not crazy
Actually, I realize that what I mentionned might only affect the List, which get items listed twice, not the Tree. The dupes on Tree might be linked to something else.... or just the same when its the very first time a folder is being browsed, I'm not sure.

Hey look, happened again: I change location to another drive, and as XY was getting data/filling up the List I applied a VF, and got this:
Note that the node had already been expended before, so Tree is fine, no dupes there, only List.

Okay, I think I fixed that one today.
