XYplorer Beta Club

I just have to start this topic here and now. I'm regularly reading a number of Vista-related newsgroups and forums, and it's just hilarious and depressing at the same time: 90% of all Vista users seem to be completely disappointed and/or upset with the new Vista file manager, and they are constantly posting loads of complaints, tears, anger, wishes and questions all over the planet.

Now, the answer to most of these postings is: STOP WHINING AND USE XYPLORER!

Unfortunately, XYplorer and its incredible power is still unknown to the vast majority of computer users, and I simply don't have the time to write 100s of posts a day advertising my own product (which, of course, would be kind of uncool, too). I have to code to make the beast even better!

So, PLEASE, speak to those poor Vista Victims where you meet them (follow the trail of tears), and tell them how to save their souls!

I'm not even a Vista candidate with my ole system, but I'm trying to spread the word! I went to the Vista launch night event at CompUSA (they had other stuff I needed at great prices that eve) and told a few people there...and thus I saw that V's WE still did not have the feature that caused me to find XY in first place: Search for files based on time of day and not just date.
M$ added all sorts of fancy looking stuff (like Aero...yea...woopie...NOT!) but the stuff one needs to be productive still isn't there! That's why we depend on Don to add in things that ARE needed and not just for looks...though some things for looks do help, such as newest tweak to define spacing on tree.

Big difference here though, XY's interface/visual things are here to help your productivity, enhance your use of the product, or simply make the GUI better suits your needs.
MS interface/things on the other hand seem to be limited to do things no one cares about, that won't improve anything but might slow down things a lot unless you have the latest super-computer from the Deep Blue family....

LOTS of us are deeply disappointed in Vista's UI, and Vista Explorer is the worst offender. Don's right — it's an opportunity to introduce XYplorer every time. Here are a few screenshots of what it looks like:

Here is the Add Files dialog (from various programs), which is self-defeating:

I find Vista's file explorer to be ok. Though probably because on my laptop I..

a) don't deal with the thousands of files like I do on my laptop
b) I use Vista's quick links feature (kinda like bookmarks/catalog in XYplorer) to hop around to where I'm usually going

Though I can imagine if I tried Vista on my desktop I'd be using XYplorer as often as I do now on it.
