Ok, silly question time. Silly because I know there's going to be a simple solution that I *should* have worked out or been able to find. However . . .

Had this issue for a while but just lived with it, thinking I'd find the solution one day. I haven't and it's bugging the hell out of me

My issue is that branch view in pane 1 shows all icons for folders and files, just as it should and just as it does in list view

Pane 2 shows all the icons in normal list view, but in branch view the icons disappear and I'm left with just a list of file / folder names

My mind is boggled because I simply can't find what must be an easy fix for this. In fact, as an experienced XY user I can't believe I'm having to ask!

Just to add, this problem persists with details view, list view etc. No icons shown in pane 2

After all this time, writing the question out brought me to the answer. I'll mention it here in case anyone else has this issue.

I'd forgotten about the menu option 'Tools' > 'Customize List'

The first option is 'show icons'. I switched that off then on again, now all is well. Can't believe I didn't think of that. Something strange must have happened to my pane 2 but it's reset now.
