I've got full row select in the list, but can't seem to find a way to set this in Branch View, is it possible?

Turn on Branch View, then turn on Full row select. It should stick.

Nope, doesn't seem to work for whatever I'm doing. However, I did find this in another thread: Tools | Customize List | Highlight Selected Rows

That at least puts an underline in Branch View, which is enough to help visually. I'd prefer full row select, but this is almost as good.

Try this:
Tools | Customize List | Full Row Select
