Rename Special > Search and Replace...

I would welcome two small changes to the filename Search and Replace function:
1. case-insensitive search (currently, 'foo' will not match 'Foo')
2. a way to keep the panel open, to run multiple search&replaces, without having to open the panel again and again

1. Does anyone really need to distinguish between upper/lowercase ?
I don't need an option, just make it case insensitive (only my opinion of course).

2. A nice way (IMO) to implement this:
You make a change and hit enter, the command is executed, the focus stays in the text field.
You make another change, hit enter again.
When you're done, tab to the Cancel button, then hit enter.

Note that you could still enter a command and click on the Ok button, like today.

----------------------

A USE CASE (if you're wondering why I'm asking for this)

Let's say you have three files:
1. XYPlorer.mp3
Track2 - Xplorelore.MP3
track3_Xcetera.Mp3

Assume you have 10 other files, but they all adhere to one of those naming standards.
I want to rename them, to the standard:
<track> - <title>.mp3

This could be done with a Regular Expression.
...but it is easy to make a small mistake and end up destroying the filenames.
Forget the $2, and you get 1.mp3 / 2.mp3 / 3.mp3...
(either a preview or an undo for RegEx would be very very useful by the way).

The easy+secure way to rename the files is to run those four Search&Replaces:
track/
./ -
_/ -
mp3/mp3

Now you've got
1 - XYPlorer.mp3
2 - Xplorelore.mp3
3 - Xcetera.mp3
[4..13]

This can be done very quickly - but not if the window closes after every replace.

I agree, especially after my experience with search and replace yesterday (see here).

How about moving the whole rename thing from right-click context menu to info panel?? Will anybody else find this useful?

It's planned anyway... including a preview. It's one of my daily morning 984 top priority meditation routines, and it's at a promising state of mental evolution.
