Different Column for each Folder?

Hey guys, I got fresh instal of windows and win explorer is giving me some smaller issues so I decided to try this program, everything seems awesome beside 1 thing that I cant figure out.

So how do you sort files by different columns for each folder?

Lets say:

Folder A (sort by Name)

There is Folder B inside folder A which is (sort by Date)

How do I achieve that? Since right now if I click to sort by name/date or anything it applies it to all folders and subfolders instead of each individual folder having its own sorting order.

You want to use Folder View Settings.
Do these steps in sequence.
  • Open Main Menu > View > Folder View Settings. You can also add a FVS button to the toolbar. (Rightclick toolbar >Customize)
  • Now on when I say "FVS > Setting", it menas open this menu and choose "Setting"
  • FVS> Enable Folder View Settings (make sure it's enabled)
  • goto Folder A and sort by name.
  • FVS > Save Folder View
  • FVS > Edit. A dialog will open.
  • In this dialog, in the "Applied Settings" section, check only Sort Order, Uncheck everything else. Then OK.
  • Now you'll do the same for Folder B
  • goto Folder B and sort by Date.
  • FVS > Save Folder View
  • FVS > Edit.
  • In this dialog, in the "Applied Settings" section, check only Sort Order, Uncheck everything else. Then OK.

Ok I got it to work, thanks for explanation.

I did hope that there would be some simpler option to tick that applies to to all folders instead of having to do it for every individual one.

FVS > Define this folder view as default.
