The change in behavour of check box selection with version 15 is confusing.

Left click does not select an item, it only highlights it. Right click will select it with check box but at that point it's stays selected when left clicking other items. This is not the same behavour in Windows explorer and is confusing.

Click on the checkboxes. [this is a pretty good change imo.]

Is this going to be an option that can be turned off easily? it's way too different from the windows explorer behaviour to have it enabled by default.

Cannot say, it's brand-new. You are the first who does not seem to like it. I personally find it terrific.

This new behavior breaks the sticky selection mode when the check-box selection mode is on.

Which part of it is broken?

Sticky mode doesn't do anything anymore. Because I can't select an item by click on it, sticky selection mode has no effect. If I have to click on the check-boxes to do what I used to do with sticky selection. But in that case there is no need for sticky selection other than not having to aim for the check boxes when selecting.

The most distracting behavior is that can't select anything when when I click on an item, I have to aim for the check boxes. (or hold the control key) Or turn off the check boxes. I have to switch between windows explore and xyplorer a lot and this behavior is creating a problem for me.

The tweak you listed, I don't know where to put that?

I use checkbox mode exclusively. I assume many will find the change made with v15 beneficial but I do not. For some reason inline renaming doesn't work in this mode anymore (even when the checkbox is selected). Also, I loved clicking anywhere on whitespace to uncheck my checkbox selection(s) but this doesn't work anymore either. Lastly, I've have difficulty left clicking and dragging a file or folder. I don't recall having to select the checkbox beforehand in order to drag prior to v15 but I could be wrong on that one.

I tried tweaking the .ini file as above but it didn't help.

1. I will add a GUI way to select the mode you want.
