Hi,
Under thumbnail (by default) I have filename.ext label... ok, that is good.
Now, how do I remove filename displayed and show only thumbnails?
Also, if I keep filename, how do I add (for example) extra info like "file size" or "date" under filename label?
Thanks
How to add/remove thumbnail label/text ?

This doesn't fully answer your question, but when in Thumbnail View, right-click the Thumbnail toolbar button and find the "Show caption" option.

Re: How to add/remove thumbnail label/text ?
Thank you (sorry for a late reply).
Why is that menu only visible on right click only and only partially visible when clicked on button?
The whole menu should be visible when I click on thumbnail button.
Just a rant as I do not see purpose hiding couple of bottom options.
again, thanks for help

in XY toolbar buttons display a short primary menu (or trigger their functionality) on left-click, and a expanded, less-used, sometimes alternative, menu on right-click (which is usually populated with configuration options)
I believe the purpose is to reduce clutter in menus.

Re: How to add/remove thumbnail label/text ?
kunkel321 was talking about the Thumbnails button which toggles between the Details & Thumbnails #1 views on left-click and shows the View > Views menu on right-click. Meaning there is no menu on left-click to differ from the right-click one.
I'm guessing rur54 is actually talking about the Views toolbar button, which shows just the first section of the View > Views menu on left-click and the full menu on right-click.
Granted, even after Sammay's explanation there's some confusion because both right-click menus (but not View > Views) expand to contain thumbnail commands only when the view is in a thumbnails mode. To make matters worse a couple of these commands are not available anywhere other than the button's context menu (Refresh Selected Thumbnails (Better)/(Faster) & the quick toggle for Cache Thumbnails to Disk). If that weren't enough, the 'Show Captions' command also appears to be only available here but in reality it is just an alternate caption for the 'Autosize Columns Now' command.

In this special context (where Autosize Columns Now is meaningless) the KS can be used for another function. Yes, it's dirty, but it does not harm.TheQwerty wrote:If that weren't enough, the 'Show Captions' command also appears to be only available here but in reality it is just an alternate caption for the 'Autosize Columns Now' command.

That's debatable.admin wrote:In this special context (where Autosize Columns Now is meaningless) the KS can be used for another function. A user unfamiliar with the re-use might use the keyboard shortcut hoping to autosize columns and become confused by the captions disappearing or worse not notice it happen. Similarly, a script that applies autosize columns will end up toggling the captions when it is very unlikely to be the intent.
Only using this caption in the toolbar button's context menu means that it is difficult to find the command if you remember the name but not location or if you want to change the keyboard shortcut.
If the user changes the keyboard shortcut for 'Autosize Columns Now' they may not realize they've also changed the shortcut for 'Show Captions' which may lead them to view it as broken functionality.
It's impossible to use different keyboard shortcuts for the different roles without using a script to perform some logic. Granted it's also impossible to do the opposite - use the same shortcut for two commands with the same scopes - without using a script. I guess that's a draw.
I'm not insisting it be changed, but I cannot let you call it harmless.
