Keep progress dialog in background

Hi,
I'm not sure if there's already a way to prevent this, but I didn't find one, so here's my request:
I have a script to copy files to my backup disc. The script works such that a separate background job is launched for each file, so a separate progress dialog pops up for each. The problem is that I do want the progress dialog to open, but I don't want this progress dialog to come to the foreground, especially compared to other applications.
Sidenote: this doesn't always happen and it doesn't happen with all applications, but I can't see any specific pattern either.
So could you add an option to start the dialogs always in the background?
