Crash on startup

I was fiddling with a bunch of different windows xp settings today (disk indexing, virtual memory size, disabling non-critical services) and now Tracker crashes every time I try to start it. I get one of those generic windows error messages:

"TrackerV3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

EventType : InPageError P1 : c000009c P2 : 00000003

I tried a clean reinstall and reboot, but it still crashes every time.
I tried undoing all the changes to my windows setup, but there were probably a few things I forgot about. Are there any windows settings that Tracker depends on?
Has anyone run into this problem before?
Can you think of anything I could have done to cause this?
Does tracker store settings in any place besides the ini file (somewhere that might not get cleaned up by uninstall)?

Well, maybe one of them was critical?

No, definitely not.

No other idea.
