Hi Don,

I may gone lost in all those options, but today I've noticed some thumbnails (not all; 192x192, here Large Tiles) show black stripes I can't get ríd off.

Stripes in embedded thumbnails maybe?

I was sure I already checked that - until you've asked.
I will check again later.

I'm really getting old (meaning: dumb-brained): these images are original camera JPGs!

Anyway, I couldn't see them with two other image browsers, so I returned to XY's settings -> the stripes are generated when "super-fast thumbnails" are checked.

Me too.

More seriously, apart from some early after-unpacking test shots these images are the 1st real JPGs I've made since I'v purchased my Pentax 4 years ago. Though I'm still a sort of a pixel whore I can't justify using RAW to shoot some faded cover prints.

Still had not time to view my first X100T shots in Lightroom, but chimping ( :) ) the camera display they look incredibly sharp. Zooming the display feels like operating a pocket-Hubble. :)

 I'm happy that you're happily chimping. :D
Yes, mirror-less increases average sharpness (though, the internal JPEG-engine will contribute as well).

Btw, bug confirmed?

You'll find out if you haven't already that unless you're taking shots that require some white balance work or you just love to tweak, there's no need to shot RAW, the JPEGs are going to be spectacular on the X100S/T. As a number of reviewer have said. From DPreview, "•Excellent JPEG image quality - little need to shoot Raw except to correct WB". OT a bit but you were already :)

I believe and hope this is true, since for me playing with the camera should be as off-screen as possible. I already spend enough time sitting in front of a monitor...

What bug? :eh: Where did you hide it between the lines?

Or are super-fast thumbs black-striped by design?

Not really, but I have no control over them: This is the work of GDI plus. I still think they are embedded...

OK. Once I find enough time I will extract them using exif-tool.

It's a miniscule thingie, anyway. I just wanted to let you know and decide.
