Bringing config back after clean install

Just did a Win 8.1 clean install, installed and registered xyplorer, but can't find the support page that describes how to bring back the previous configuration. In the meantime, I've copied back almost everything but the executables from the program folder and app data, but that hasn't done it. Must be something I'm missing? Thanks,

If you copy XY's program folder as well as the app data folder from a backup back to their original locations, XY should look exactly the same again.

It didn't work on two tries. Had to use my laptop's copy.

Why waiting for the next time?
If you still have a valid backup of XY's data folder, restoring the config
must work! There are no hidden secrets.

I tried one more time last night and didn't see any change from my laptop's files. The one thing that stands out from both is the color settings. The tree ones were completely different than I had before. Is there a file or two specifically for colors?
