Unable to see network pc

Hi, I have xyp portable and it works great except for accessing one of my desktop pcs. It can see and access my nas boxes, an xp pc, my media players. It just cant access a windows 7 pc that both windows explorer, and Q-Dir can. The fact that it can be accessed by windows explorer and q-dir indicates (to me) that it is not a network/firewall/av issue?
