XYplorer Beta Club

For some reason, XYplorer lost all my configuration settings the other day. Annoying because I've been using it for many years and I can't remember how I'd set it all up!

Anyway, cutting a long story short, I've got most of it back the way I want it but for some reason, I can't drag and drop a file from ANYWHERE into a folder in XYplorer. What have i missed?? "Drop" just doesn't work.

Hey, you probably have Manual Sorting turned on.
Uncheck option in Tools > Customize List > Manual Sorting .

Nope - Manual sorting not ticked...

Your last good data is always available in the <xydata>\AutoBackup folder.

Good to know for the future but they've all been overwritten by now

Still can't drag and drop though.....

A Windows reboot usually fixes this.

So it does!

(This PC doesn't get rebooted often!)

Is there any way to fix this besides a reboot? Have it happening at the moment on a server that is not so easy to reboot

If you cannot drag FROM anywhere then it could be because you run XY as Admin. This is a UAC thing. Unelevate XY to fix it.

Wasn't running as admin, and had exited and relaunched several times and it still wasn't working. Basically whenever I tried to drag anything it would just wouldn't (the cursor would change for like a millisecond and then change back).

Interestingly enough I tried again this morning and it seems to have fixed itself. I guess it just needed a nap!
