View "details with thumbnails1" problem

Hi,

if i click on a thumbnail and hold the left mouse button, the image is shown. But, if the image is bigger than the xyplorer window and i move the mouse, the image is moving in the opposite direction.

That's not so nice.

There is an option "Shrink larger originals to fit screen" which you could use if it isnt to your taste.
But I thought it was OK as it is, because if you want to see top part of the BIG image then you have to move the mouse to the top to see it, which means obviously the image will move down. But as i told you, its a matter of taste.

I strongly disagree, this is a very natural behavior I think (and used elsewhere also, for the same reason). As surrender said, you wanna see the top of the picture, you move the mouse to the top, wanna see the right of it, move to the right!
Basically you're not moving the picture itself but you're "vision area", and this sure feels more natural that way to me.

I'll agree with jacky and surrender...it's the same as when you pan in Google maps or similar...you move mouse to right, and thus image moves to left, since you're seeing only a portion of the entire image.

Idem with scrollbars; mouse moves down, object moves up.
In image software you find a different move function signaled by a "hand"-shaped cursor. It works the other way round: you drag the image instead of the view port. However, I could not do it this way in XY because if the image is larger than 2 screens in either direction then you can not drag as far as you need to see everything without releasing, then changing the touch point, and then drag again (which is the way you do it in image software). Because on MDBU (mouse down blow up) releasing means end of the game.
Okay, this was a very bad way to explain it, hope you understand anyway.

Yes!

Yes, it's true! The way imaging software goes is so common to me that i expect it from every software which handles images. That was the reason of my post.

But, if everyone thinks the other way is better, it's ok for me.

You could always make it a user choice? ;)

The alternative could give you a hand (like in Adobe apps) that allows you to grab and move the picture around. Just a thought.

Luke, I'm presuming you read this reason why that's not possible?
