Drag and drop suddenly stopped working

Hello -

Suddenly today, when I left-click and drag a file from the main area of a tab, nothing happens - it's as though I was moving the cursor without having clicked and held the left mouse button down; the cursor just moves away from the file icon and the file icon remains highlighted, but no drag image appears and nothing happens when I try to drop the non-displaying "file" over what would have been my desired target.

I looked through all the options I could find, and the only relevant one was "Tools" -> "Configuration" -> "General" -> "Menus, Mouse, Safety" -> "Safety Belts" -> "Disallow left-dragging from tree and list". This was already *unchecked*, however.

I then restarted the computer, and the same thing happened.

Do you have any suggestions about what might have happened to break dragging-and-dropping, and/or what I might do to resolve this issue?

Just a guess--sounds like what happens when the new MDBU on icons feature is enabled and you try to drag an icon for a non-previewed file type. Are you able to drag by file name but not icon?
