How to change the name of a tag

Let's say I applied a tag called "cats" to several jpg files. Now I want to change the name to "housecats". So I go to "Edit Tag List" and make that change there. The problem is that the files that I have already tagged "cats" are still tagged "cats" not "housecats". How do I this? Thank you!

It could be done by renaming but ONLY if all files with the tag "cats" don't contain any additional ones:

01. At first you should get only those files that contain "cats" by searching for this tag (ctrl + f, "Tags" tab, check "Tags:", enter: cats, click "Find Now").

02. Select all found .jpg files.

03. Favorites - Edit Tags...

04. Just replace "cats" with "housecats", click "OK"

Don't forget to save your tag database afterwards
05. File - Settings Special - * Save Tags
Favorites - Reload Tags Database

If these files contain additional tags as well you can do this:

Use 01. + 02. from above

Then use these steps:

Favorites - Add Tags...
Enter: housecats
Check: Add new tags to tag list, click "OK"

Favorites - Remove Tags by List...
Check: cats, click "OK"

Don't forget to save your tag database afterwards
File - Settings Special - * Save Tags
Favorites - Reload Tags Database

As you can see this is not a renaming tags operation but a add + remove one.

Ok thanks. I was hoping for a simpler method, but this will do.
