Changing topmost folder without selecting it

Hi,
I'm using windows 8.1 and when I open a folder that I haven't visited before (not in current history) , XYP enter into it and automatically highlights the topmost item (usually a folder).
However, you can't simply press ENTER to enter it, you need to select it manually first - either with mouse, or type in part of its name , or with arrow keys
How to configure XYP so that when you enter a folder, the selected item within it is ACTIONABLE, straight by pressing ENTER
