Tree in each pane?

I want to use dual panes, with e.g. C drive in the left pane and D drive in the right pane. What I would like is a tree in each pane, so that the tree in the left controls the left pane and tree on the right the right pane. Something like this screenshot (which I PhotoShopped to explain what I am after).

Many times has it been wished so search forums for other prior threads but as I recall, it's not something Don wants to do...sorry.
