How to set XYplorer as default file manager?

I set XYplorer as my default file manager (by ticking the two checkboxes in Configuration > Shell Integration), and yet when I click my Start menu and click on, e.g., ‘Documents’, ‘Pictures’ or ‘Music’, Windows Explorer still opens. What am I doling wrong here?

Q: Do those checkboxes stay checked after you restart XYplorer?

If No, then run XY as admin and recheck them.

If Yes, then the start menu sidebar items are probably hard-coded to always open in WindowsExplorer (like Control Panel does). (I'll have to check the truth in this, when it's the next morning here. )

A: Yes.

And yet the problem persists.

Those point to Windows Libraries. XYplorer doesn't explicitly support libraries yet...

I can see how ‘Documents’, ‘Pictures’ or ‘Music’ are Libraries, but even ‘Computer’ in the Start menu opens in Windows Explorer. Surely Computer should open in XYplorer?

Those do indeed open docs, pictures and music libraries -- look at the opened explorer panes' headers -- unless you've modified them to open actual MyDocuments etc folders. (how?)

About the Computer link, either its tie with WE is hardcoded, or XY doesn't support whatever protocol the link uses.
